Public Safety

Your Safety, My Focus.

Strengthen public safety by fully funding the Bozeman Police  Department, Fire Department, and EMS while maintaining  community-oriented practices. Support equipment, recruitment, and retention of all first responders through competitive wages  and housing stipends, funded by reallocating existing budget  resources rather than new taxes. Prioritize critical infrastructure  investments such as lighting, sidewalks, aging roads, bridges,  water lines, and emergency response systems that directly  impact the safety and well-being of Bozeman residents. Partner with local schools, nonprofits, and law enforcement to fund after school programs, mentorship opportunities, and summer jobs for  youth to reduce risk factors for crime.

  • Empowering Our Everyday Heroes

I will strengthen public safety by fully funding the Bozeman Police Department, Fire Department, and EMS. This commitment includes ensuring our first responders have the best equipment, robust recruitment programs, and strong retention through competitive wages and housing stipends. Crucially, these vital investments will be achieved by reallocating existing budget resources, ensuring we enhance public safety without burdening residents with new taxes, while maintaining community-oriented practices.

  • Foundations of a Safe Community

A safe community relies on robust infrastructure. I will prioritize critical investments in essential systems that directly impact the safety and well-being of Bozeman residents. This includes upgrading and maintaining vital infrastructure such as improved street lighting, safe sidewalks, modernizing aging roads and bridges, ensuring reliable water lines, and enhancing emergency response systems. These foundational improvements are key to preventing accidents and ensuring rapid, effective responses when needed.

  • Investing in Our Youth, Securing Our Future

True public safety extends beyond response; it's about prevention. We will proactively reduce risk factors for crime by partnering with local schools, non-profits, and law enforcement to fund impactful after-school programs, valuable mentorship opportunities, and accessible summer jobs for youth. By providing positive pathways and constructive engagement, we invest in our young people, fostering a stronger, safer, and more connected community for generations to come.

“Public safety isn't just about responding to emergencies; it's about building a community where every resident feels secure, supported, and empowered to thrive. That's the Bozeman we're building together.”
